Game Time Senior Bowl
I am extremely honored and excited to be involved with the Seattle Senior Bowl. It is an event that is important to me and to the youth of Seattle. This game represents an opportunity for high-school seniors to showcase their abilities. The Seattle Senior Bowl will provide exposure to players that may have been overlooked during the regular season. When I was a high-school student-athlete in Seattle, I felt that many times Seattle was not taken serious within the athletic spectrum.
As a player, I have witnessed and experienced how it feels to be overlooked. Now that I'm in the position to make a difference in my community, I want to help young student-athletes showcase their talent and have someone believe in them. Regardless of athletic ability, the players will have the chance to purse a higher education.
The 1st Annual Seattle Senior Bowl is an opportunity for me to give back to a community that has supported my growth as well as provide an opportunity for college and university recruiters representing Division I, Division I AA, Division II, Division III, and Junior Colleges to see potential students for their programs. I envision the 1st Annual Seattle Senior Bowl to be a symbol of hope for the players and the community. I would like to see this become an annual event that continues to grow and prosper for years to come.
To make this event a success I have partnered with Game Time, a local youth organization founded by WSU sensation Derek Sparks, that is building A Generation of Champions through after school and extended day learning programs, motivational school assemblies and sports camps in the Pacific Northwest. Game Time is just one of the many partnerships needed to make this event work for the youth in our community. We have the support of the NFL, Green Bay Packers, and Bob Bourgetter and Mark Haley, members of the Washington State Coaches Association.
The last piece of the puzzle is corporate support from you. Proceeds from this event will also stay in the community and provide opportunities for young athletes to receive training, education and mentors through organizations like Game Time and the Star Fire Sports Complex Computer Lab where students are motivated to put forth their best efforts and prepare for life beyond the game. I'd like to thank each and every one of you in advance for your support and giving this event an opportunity to be something special. Time is of the essence, we look forward to your prompt response.
